The years passed, new platforms arrived and people got a whole new view on portability and usability with smartphones and tablets taking over the market. Pacemaker saw a golden opportunity and a chance to get back in the game – Let´s go digital and transform the Pacemaker Device in for a touch interface! With this idea once again came to No Picnic  in august 2011 gave us the task of developing interaction and graphics design for their coming app.

No Picnic went to Munich to collect  the prestigious iF Product Design Gold Award. Out of a couple of thousand applicants only a few receive gold and it makes us proud to be one of the Gold award winners.

The No Picnic team that worked with Propellerhead Balance went to the BMW Welt Museum in Munich to collect the golden statuette.

Congratulations Kenny!

Before joining No Picnic, designer Kenny Wong did his bachelors project for ABB Robotics. This project led to two years development work together with a large and international engineering team for realization of the project. The project right now is a prototype for development under the name FRIDA (Friendly Robot for Industrial Dual arm Assembly). FRIDA is an easy-to-install robot that can work safely next to humans, in places that are ergonomically designed for manual assembly, without the need for separating the workspace of human and machine. The project recently reached high credibility with the Red Dot Design Concept Award Best of the Best.

The Evoko Room Manager has received another award for its smart design. This time its a Design For Asia Award (DFAA) by Hong Kong Design Center. We are very happy for this global recognition.

The Evoko Room Manager is a revolutionary conference room management system with plug and play integration to the existing Exchange Server. The touch-sensitive screen displays the booking status clearly outside each meeting room.

Immediate needs, such as booking an instant meeting, ending a meeting early, or checking the room status, can now be solved directly using Evoko. The illuminated red or green glow makes it easy to see from a distance whether the room is free or not. The interface itself is just as intuitive and self-explanatory. Time to clean up the Sony project room to make room for the next project with Sony Design Centre in Tokyo, Japan.

We are excited to start our next project with Tetra Pak and their Front End Innovation & Design Department in Lund, Sweden.

We are very  happy to welcome Montblanc as a new client and are looking forward to many pleasant trips to Hamburg.

No Picnic has been rewardad with an iF product design award 2012 for the development of the audio interface “Balance”, together with Propellerhead.

“Balance” is a 2-in/2-out audio interface for recording and playback. It’s the first hardware product ever from the top-tier music software company – Propellerhead.

Interaction is facing the user on the top-side instead of the common short-side. With colour-coded inputs for all the gear, instruments are always connected and ready to record. An equally large knob for speakers and headphones acknowledges that music makers of today are as likely to create at a workstation as on their laptop with headphones on.

The If product design award is one of the world’s oldest, best-known design competitions. The international jury of experts bestowed an IF design award on 1,218 entries from a total of 4,322 entries from 48 countries this year . All winners will receive an IF seal of design excellence, which remains valid for the entire product lifecycle. The 2012 installment of the IF product design award took place for the 58th time.
